Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV) Application Assistance

Our SIRV application assistance provides you with a sophisticated, legally compliant pathway to secure indefinite residency in the Philippines through strategic capital investment. We guide you through the visa application with the Board of Investments (BOI) and Bureau of Immigration (BI).

What You Should Know About the Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV) in the Philippines

A Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV) is a non-immigrant, indefinite-stay visa issued to foreign nationals who invest at least US$ 75,000. Unlike other residency visas, it is tied to active economic contribution, making it the ideal choice for business owners and investors who wish to participate in the Philippines’ growth while securing multiple-entry privileges and exemptions from certain immigration requirements.

Probationary SIRV

This is the initially issued SIRV valid for 6 months, and is ideal if the applicant needs temporary residency or wants to explore investment opportunities in the Philippines before committing long-term.

Indefinite SIRV

This is the upgraded SIRV, granting permanent residency with multiple-entry privileges and other benefits, making it ideal for those seeking long-term residency while maintaining investments in approved sectors.

What Duran & Duran-Schulze Law Does

Duran & Duran-Schulze Law acts as the professional liaison with the Board of Investments (BOI) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI). We manage the complex two-tier process: securing your initial 6-month Probationary SIRV and then facilitating the conversion to an Indefinite status once the capital is fully deployed. We ensure that all investment documentation is flawlessly executed to protect your residency.

Our SIRV Visa Application Assistance

We handle every technical step of the SIRV application to ensure a seamless approval process:

Pre-Evaluation and Documentation

We verify the applicant’s eligibility and assist in securing mandatory clearances. We also help ensure that all foreign-issued documents are translated and apostilled, as required by the agencies.

Inward Remittance and Bank Coordination

We can also assist in opening a special Peso Time Deposit account with accredited banks (DBP or Land Bank) and coordinate the issuance of the Certificate of Inward Remittance, which is the non-negotiable proof required for your initial filing.

Filing for Conversion to Indefinite Status

Within the 180-day probationary window, we handle the petition to convert the required deposit into equity. We manage the submission of SEC documents, GIS filings, and Stock Transfer Office certifications to prove that the US$ 75,000 is actively supporting a Philippine enterprise.

Annual Compliance and Maintenance

As the SIRV requires annual reporting to the BOI to prove the investment is still held, we assist in the yearly renewal of the SIRV ID Card and the submission of required corporate records, ensuring the visa remains active and compliant.

Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV) FAQs

For your reference and guidance, here are some frequently asked questions about the Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV) in the Philippines:

What is the minimum investment requirement for an SIRV?

The minimum required investment is US$ 75,000. This must be remitted into the Philippines and initially placed in a Peso Time Deposit before being converted into approved shares.

What types of investments are eligible for the SIRV?

To qualify for the SIRV and enjoy its full benefits, your capital must be invested and maintained in any of the following: publicly listed companies, businesses operating in areas listed in the Investment Priorities Plan (IPP) of the Board of Investments (BOI), or companies in the manufacturing and services sectors.

Can I include my family in my SIRV application?

Yes. Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 years of age can be included as dependents. They are granted the same indefinite residency and multiple-entry privileges as the principal investor.

What are the benefits and privileges of an SIRV Visa holder?

The Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV) offers you indefinite residency, multiple-entry privileges, and exemption from exit clearance, making travel and long-term stay in the Philippines seamless. You can import household goods tax- and duty-free while maintaining investments in approved sectors to tap into the country’s growing economy and maximize financial opportunities.

What happens if I withdraw my investment?

The SIRV is tied directly to the investment. If you withdraw the funds or sell the shares without a BOI-approved reinvestment, your visa will be cancelled, and you must downgrade to a tourist status or leave the country.

What are the documentary requirements for SIRV Visa application?

To apply for a Probationary SIRV, you must submit a completed application form, clearances from NICA and either your home country or Interpol, a medical certificate, proof of inward remittance and peso deposit, authenticated birth and marriage certificates, and your passport, and pay the processing fees.

To convert to an Indefinite SIRV, additional documents are required depending on your investment type, including an updated NBI or police clearance, proof of business or office location, SEC registration and corporate documents for new or existing corporations, BIR registration and permits, and stock certificates for investments in publicly listed companies, along with any other documents required by the Board of Investments (BOI).

Can I work in the Philippines with an SIRV?

Yes. SIRV holders can manage their investments and businesses. However, if you intend to be employed by another local entity, you must still secure an Alien Employment Permit (AEP) from DOLE, though you do not need to change your primary visa status.
