Declaration of Nullity of Marriage
Nullity of Marriage is a legal process through which a court declares a marriage to be null and void because it goes against Philippine laws.
To file for nullity, the petitioner must hire a lawyer and file a petition in the Regional Trial Court where he/she and his/her spouse resides. The petitioner must also present evidence to support their claim for nullity based on the legal grounds established by law.

Grounds for Nullity of Marriage
According to Article 35 of the Family Code of the Philippines, a marriage may be considered null and void if one of the following legal grounds is violated:
- Underage Marriages. One or both parties are under eighteen (18) years of age, even with the consent of their parents or guardians.
- Unauthorized Solemnizing Officer. The marriage is performed by an individual who is not legally authorized to solemnize a marriage.
- No License. The marriage was performed without a proper marriage license.
- Bigamous or Polygamous Marriages. One of the parties is already married to someone else.
- Mistaken Identity. One party was mistaken about the identity of the person they were marrying.
- Subsequent Marriages. Marriages that are considered invalid according to Article 53 of the said Code.
