AEPCO Special Permanent Residency Visa (ASRV)

The APECO Special Resident Visa (ASRV) is authorized directly by the Philippine government within the Aurora Special Economic Zone (APECO), which aims to foster local economic development.

The ASRV allows foreign nationals to reside in the Philippines. It can be obtained through the purchase of real estate or by entering into a contract allowing the foreign individual to reside within the Aurora Economic Zone for a minimum of five (5) years.

Benefits of ASRV Holder

Applying for a ASRV in the Philippines has no age limit, making it accessible to individuals of all ages. Holders of this visa can enjoy a range of privileges, including the right to study, work, establish a company, and set up a business in the country.

Additionally, ASRV holders have the freedom to enter or leave the country at their convenience and stay long-term. They also have permission to access various financial services, such as high-interest bank accounts, credit cards, life insurance, securities, and loans for homes or cars.

This visa is particularly advantageous for structuring and preserving assets, given the low inheritance tax rate of 6% in the Philippines compared to 55% in Japan. In addition, ASRV holders gain APECO resort membership, which includes complimentary accommodation and access to resort facilities.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who is qualified to apply for an ASRV?

Any foreign national who established or is in the process of establishing a residence within the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport, whether through acquisition or lease of a residential unit for at least five (5) years.

The following documents are required to be submitted:

  • Notarized letter request signed by the applicant
  • Duly accomplished APECO General Application Form
  • Copy of any document showing proof that applicant has established or is in the process of establishing a residence within the APEFZ
  • Photocopy of Passport Bio page and latest immigration stamp
  • NBI Clearance
  • Bureau of Immigration Clearance Certificate

The applicants must undergo biometrics or fingerprinting, which determines whether they will be issued a blue card or red card. The blue card is issued by APECO, while the red card is known as an ACR I-Card. The ACR I-Card is a residence identity card mandated for foreigners staying in the Philippines beyond 59 days. Notably, applicants who will not undergo the standard process can still apply by submitting a copy of their passport, with an increased fee.

ASRV grants its holders the right to reside within the Aurora Ecozone for a minimum of five (5) years, provided that they maintain ownership or right of possession of their residential unit.
