What is Electronic Notarization?
Electronic Notarization (eNotarization) is the performance of notarial acts on electronic documents, such as PDF or PDF/A files, by a commissioned Electronic Notary Public (ENP) through an Electronic Notarization Facility (ENF), with principals and witnesses appearing in person, remotely, or through a combination of both, subject to the 2025 Rules on Electronic Notarization.
Commissioned ENPs may perform electronic notarial acts for principals anywhere in the Philippines and abroad (i.e., physically within a Philippine embassy, consular office, or honorary consul’s office).
IMPORTANT NOTE: As announced by the Supreme Court, eNotarization services will officially become available to the public starting October 19, 2026.

How Electronic Notarization (eNotarization Works)
Electronic notarization follows a structured legal process to ensure the authentic execution, identity verification, and compliant notarization of electronic documents.
Document Preparation
The principal prepares the document in Portable Document Format (PDF) or Portable Document Format Archival (PDF/A) pursuant to Rule I, Section 4(d) of the 2025 Rules on Electronic Notarization.
ENF Account Creation and Login
The principal, witnesses, and Electronic Notary Public (ENP) access their respective accounts on an accredited Electronic Notarization Facility (ENF) to initiate the session.
Appearance Requirements
The ENP verifies the identities and voluntary participation of all appearing parties, whether attending physically, via videoconference, or through a hybrid setup.
Actual Notarization
The ENP executes the notarization within the ENF, triggering the automatic transmission of the e-notarized document to the Supreme Court Central Notarial Database.
